The 2026 Yamaha EC-06 becomes the brand's first foray into the Indian electric two-wheeler market. The EC-06, based closely on the River Indie, will be one part of Yamaha's two footed assault on the market, with more electric two-wheeler products expected in 2026. The EC-06 features a sleek, urban design language accentuated by vertically-stacked LED headlights and taillights. It comes in only one colour, Bluish White, which features white panels marked with blue accents. Compared to its inspiration, the EC-06 is aimed squarely at urban commuters, while sacrificing slightly on outright useability. With only 24.7 liters of under seat storage, the EC-06 is a tad undersized in this aspect. The EC-06 comes powered by an IPMSM motor, rated at a peak output of 6.7kW. This is capable of taking the EC-06 to a claimed top speed of 79km/h. Paired with a 4kWh NMC battery, the EC-06 is capable of a claimed 169km of range. It also comes with three riding modes - Eco, Standard and Power, which will have an impact on acceleration, top speed and range. The EC-06 features conventional suspension, with telescopic forks at the front and dual coil springs at the rear. These come bundled with 14-inch wheels riding on CEAT tyres, promising stability on our rough roads. Braking is handled by 200mm discs at the front and rear, with Combi Braking System (CBS) ensuring uniform brake application in emergency situations. The EC-06 does fall behind slightly on the technology front, with an LCD colour display with limited smartphone connectivity. Through Yamaha's Blue Connect R app, riders can monitor real-time riding data. The EC-06 also features a Reverse mode, which will allow for easy maneuvering in tight spaces. Riders will note the omission of TFT display and turn-by-turn navigation, features now commonplace within this segment. The EC-06 comes priced at Rs. 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom).
